Farm-to-Table Event Set for Saturday

Sheridan's second annual Farm-to-Table & Hoedown is set for Saturday from noon til 4 p.m at the Lazy JA Ranch on U.S. Highway 14.

The event, which will include live music, a baking contest and silent auction, is a fundraiser for Rooted in Wyoming, a Sheridan nonprofit organization that promotes school and community garden efforts.

Mary McDougall, who's a member of the board, said the organization currently has six school gardens growing vegetables and flowers.

The event will feature a locally sourced dinner, and McDougall said there's a bake-off for those who attend the event. She said judges will be three people from Sheridan's restaurant community, and the only requirement is that one of the ingredients in the entry must be locally produced.

Other activities will include games, raffles and an American Gothic photo booth. Tickets to the event are $25, $10 for children, and admission is free for children 12 and under.
