Filing will be open through Monday for candidates interested in running for one of Sheridan County's three school districts, the Northern Wyoming Community College District and the Sheridan County Conservation District.

County Clerk Eda Schunk Thompson said filing for those offices started, in fact, on Aug. 8.

In fact, two four-year positions on Sheridan County School District 1 will be up for election this year. District 1 is the Big Horn area and the Ranchester-Dayton area. Four four-year positions are open on School District 2, which is the city of Sheridan and Story Elementary School.

On School District 3, which is Arvada/Clearmont, two four-year terms are up for election as well as one unexpired two-year term. Three four-year terms are to be filled this year on the college board. The conservation district this year will fill one four-year urban term, one four-year at-large term, one four-year rural term and one two-year unexpired rural term.

Thompson said filing for any of those positions is at the county clerk's office. She said the general election in November is the only election for candidates for these positions.
