Fish Marked Before Being Released into Park Reservoir

In February, Lake Trout that are being raised at the Story Fish Hatchery were fin clipped in advance to their stocking in Park Reservoir. According to Bud Stewart, Public Information Specialist for the Wyoming Game and Fish Department’s Sheridan Region, these markings help them to evaluate the effectiveness of stocking the fish.

For this batch of fish, the fin clipped was the adipose. Stewart explained that the use of the fin is unknown.

The fish that were clipped will be introduced into the reservoir later this year.
