Forestry Office Entrance Moves, Temporarily

Visitor services will continue during renovations at the Bighorn National Forest’s Tongue Ranger District office in Sheridan, but the public entrance will be temporarily relocated.

According to district managers, the temporary public entrance will be from the parking lot on the east side, because the reception area is receiving a fresh coat of paint and new carpet.

Clarke McClung is the district ranger. He said visitor services, including maps and forest product permits will still be provided during the make-over. However, he said, information is also available online at fs.usda.gov/bighorn/.

The progress of the renovations will determine the affected dates, which will be either March 28 and March 31 or April 4 and April 7. He said signs will be posted on the door to reroute visitors.

The renovations are being made by the building owner. The ranger district is located at 2013 Eastside Second Street in Sheridan. The office is open weekdays, from 8-5. For more information, contact the district office. The number is posted with this story at sheridanmedia.com.
