Gov. Mead: EPA Rules Could Be Bad News For Wyoming

Governor Matt Mead released these comments from his office Wednesday regarding Environmental Protection Agency rules putting up new standards for power plant emissions.

Under the new guidelines, new coal fired power plants will likely not be built without carbon capture and sequestration capabilities, the governor says.

About 40 percent of the country's power comes from coal, and because of that, Mead says that the public comment process will be important.

The public comment process on the new rules has not started yet but Mead said that Wyoming will send these types of comments when it does.
