Governor Asks Feds To Declare Drought Emergency In Johnson County

Most areas of Wyoming received normal or above-normal levels of moisture so far this year. There are still a few places where drought is still a concern. One of those areas is in Johnson County. Wyoming Governor Dave Freudenthal has asked the Federal government to declare Johnson County a drought disaster area.

If the Federal government agrees, ranchers in the area could be eligible for special, low-interest loans to help them get through the drought conditions.
