Governor To Attend Carbon Products Conference In Buffalo

Wyoming Governor Matt Mead, in addition to the mayors of Sheridan, Gillette, and Buffalo will attend and speak at a conference in Buffalo Friday that will examine and discuss carbon products and how they may help diversify Wyoming's economy.

The NEW Growth Alliance Advanced Carbon Products Conference will take place Friday and is sponsored by JOCO First.
In addition to Governor Mead, featured speakers include Sheridan Mayor John Heath; Gillette Mayor Louise Carter-King and Buffalo Mayor Mike Johnson; carbon industry specialists from the University of Wyoming; and Mike Jones, President and co-founder of Atlas Carbon.

The purpose of the conference is to look into Advanced Carbon Products and the possibility of developing and manufacturing the products in Wyoming using the state's vast carbon resources to
create jobs and help in diversifying and stabilizing the state's economy.

According to information provided by the organizers of the conference, Wyoming is currently on the map for Advanced Carbon Products manufacturing as shown by Atlas Carbon, Rex Carbon and other businesses setting up manufacturing in Wyoming.

The conference will happen Friday from 9am to 3pm at the Bomber Mountain Civic Center in Buffalo.
