Sheridan children born in 2011 played games, had their faces painted and took rides with the Kalif Shrine Clowns during the annual 5-year-old Birthday Party at Sheridan Memorial Hospital Saturday morning.
Volunteer Coordinator Jill Schulthess explained.
Among parents attending the event was Danae Brandjord, who brought her 5-year-old twin sons to the party. Brandjord said she used to work at the hospital.
Also in attendance was Sheridan County Commissioner Mike Nickel, who said he attended the hospital's first 5-year-old Birthday Party, in 1959.
Nickel said he's probably attended about 15 of the parties through the years. He said he's brought his grandchildren to the event, and now he's waiting for his next grandchild to turn 5. In addition to the games, rides and the balloons and balloon animals, the hospital provided popcorn, First Interstate Bank and Albertson's provided cookies, and there was music courtesy of Terry Garrison on guitar and Debbie Clemens on keyboard.
