Hundreds of people came to Whitney Commons Saturday night for Sheridan’s annual Relay for Life, an event to raise funds for the battle against cancer.
In opening ceremonies at 6 p.m., Michelle Edwards, who’s chair of the event, said as of Saturday morning, $41,000 had already been raised.
This year’s Relay kicked off with a survivor dinner at 5 p.m. in The Hub on Smith Street, and opening ceremonies were followed by the survivors’ lap.
Other events included the Bark for Life competition for those who brought their dogs, the first-ever Glow Run and a Luminaria ceremony at 9:30 p.m.
