An installation artist, mixed-media artist, quiltmaker, sculptor, nonfiction writer and fiction writer will be featured at next month's Jentel Presents.

The event is scheduled from 5:30 till 7 p.m. Nov. 7 at the SAGE Gallery Space at 21 W. Brundage Street in downtown Sheridan.

Jentel Presents is a community outreach program that features visual presentations and readings by the artists and writers who participate in the Jentel Artist Residency Program. The event is open free to the public.

The Jentel Artist Residency Program accepts applications twice a year from visual artists in all media and writers in all genres for a one-month residency. In addition to accommodations for the artists, the program provides a private workspace and a stipend to help defray expenses during the program.

Featured artists and writers include Sarah Brook, an installation artist from Brooklyn, N.Y.; mixed-media artist Austen Weymueller of Friendswood, Texas; and Sarah Atlee, quiltmaker from Oklahoma City.

Also featured are sculptor Skye Gilkerson, also of Brooklyn; Kim Liao of Astoria, N.Y., a nonfiction writer who, during a trip to Taiwan, learned that her grandfather had been the leader of the first Taiwanese independence movement; and John Bubar, a fiction writer from Durham, NH, who flew military and civilian airplanes for 36 years.
