The first baby born in Johnson County came into the world at the Johnson County Healthcare Center on January 2nd, a full 10 days past her due date.

Penelope Anna Scott-Deaver was born at 7:25 that evening to mother Meagan Scott and father Dylan Deaver, both of Buffalo.
Penelope weighed 8 pounds, 10 ounces and was 21 inches long.

Penelope's mother Meagan, when asked what it was like to be a new mother, said “It's just phenomenal. I wouldn't trade it for anything in the whole world. There are moments, of course, like at 2 in the morning when you want to sleep and she has other ideas, but Dylan and I are both enjoying being parents.”

Grandma Darlene Deaver added that her granddaughter is “absolutely gorgeous.”

Again, the first baby of 2016 born in Johnson County is Penelope Anna Scott-Deaver of Buffalo.
