State Senator Dave Kinskey

Republican State Senator Dave Kinskey of Sheridan released an announcement Monday afternoon that he intended to run for the District 22 seat for the Wyoming State Senate, which he currently holds, but will be up for grabs during the election later this year.

In an interview with Sheridan Media Monday afternoon, he explained why he decided to run for the seat he was appointed to in 2014.

Kinskey was the Mayor of Sheridan when he was chosen to take the place of former State Senator John Schiffer, a Republican from Kaycee, after he passed away in 2014.
Kinskey resigned his position as mayor to assume the duties of state senator, and has served the remainder of Schiffer's term, which expires at the end of 2016.
