Library Board Approves Part-Time Employee

A Sheridan Fulmer Library staff person who's leaving will be replaced, but the new employee will work shorter hours.

Sheridan County Library trustees in a meeting earlier this week approved a plan to replace a person who's now working 23 hours a week with a person who will work 16 hours a week. Library Director Cameron Duff said the new person would work from 5 til 9 p.m. Mondays through Thursdays.

Duff said the decision to hire a new person to work fewer hours is the result of a hiring freeze that's in effect for the county library system. He said the library will review the situation each time a staff person leaves, and decide whether that person should be replaced and how.

The library board met Wednesday in Story, but approving the hiring plan was the trustees' only action.
