A full weekend of events has been planned for the Fourth Annual Longmire Days celebration in Buffalo.

Kicking off the weekend Friday morning will be the Longmire Days Parade, beginning at 9 downtown. Also, at 9 and continuing until 3 in the afternoon, will be screenings of the “Longmire” television show at the Buffalo Theater. Then at 3, a “Book to Film” discussion starts at The Occidental Hotel on Main Street, with Craig Johnson of Ucross, who is the author of the “Longmire” book series on which the show is based.

As for the main evening event, the home-run derby starts at 6 in Prosinski Park as a warm-up to the Cowboys vs. Indians softball game at 7, which features actors from the show taking on American Indian friends from the area. Commentary will be provided by Robert Taylor, who is the actor who plays Sheriff Walt Longmire on the show. Friday evening wraps with a live performance by the JackDanny Band at the Cowboy Carousel Center, standing in as Henry Standing Bear’s Red Pony Bar from the show, playing from 9-11.

Saturday’s events will begin with a pancake breakfast in the county courthouse parking lot downtown, with serving from 7-10. Soon after, craft vendors will be filling Crazy Woman Square on Main Street and will be open for business from 8-5. Then at 9 o’clock Saturday morning, screenings of the “Longmire” TV show start at the Buffalo Theater and the car show opens on South Main Street. Up the hill from Main Street, the American Indian performances will be running from 10-2. At 2, the motorcycle riders will be taking off from the downtown area for the poker run from Buffalo to Sheridan and back. Registration for that starts at noon, at the Century Club downtown.

Moving into the evening, a poker game will be ongoing from 6-11 at the Cowboy Carousel Center. At the same time, there’ll be a street dance, with music provided by Earl Wear and Haywire, that features a special performance by Adam Bartley, who is The Ferg in the show.
