A Look Back in Time: April 10, 1917

Now here's Sheridan Media's look back in time, to 100 years ago, by reporter Pat Blair as published in the Sheridan Enterprise newspaper on April 10, 1917.

All the men who left Sheridan Saturday to enlist in the navy passed the final examination at Salt Lake City, according to a telegram received by Mate D.L. Walter. The men were sent immediately to San Francisco.

Two first aid classes in Red Cross work have been organized as a result of the meeting held this afternoon at the Elks' home in Sheridan. The meeting was largely attended, and the enthusiasm was marked.

W.E. Thompson, champion heavyweight wrestler of the National Guard on the border during the period he was stationed there with the Wyoming regiment, is in Sheridan. He will remain here for several days.
