A Look Back in Time: Dec. 10, 1919

Now here's Sheridan Media's look back in time, to 100 years ago, by reporter Pat Blair as published in the Sheridan Enterprise newspaper on Dec. 10, 1919.

Due to the coal shortage, Mayor Camplin has issued a proclamation to go into effect at 8 o’clock this morning that moving picture houses will be permitted to open at 8 o’clock at night and run until 10:30.

The coal situation for Sheridan has changed little in the last 24 hours. Production in the Sheridan field, outside of the country mines, continues at a standstill.

Three boys charged with breaking into the Basket Grocery store a few nights ago will appear before Judge Byrd in police court at 4 o’clock this afternoon. The boys took a quantity of candy, gum and cigarettes in the break-in.
