A Look Back in Time: Dec. 12, 1919

Now here's Sheridan Media's look back in time, to 100 years ago, by reporter Pat Blair as published in the Sheridan Enterprise newspaper on Dec. 12, 1919.

Mayor Camplin late this afternoon announced an extension of the hours during which retail stores in Sheridan may remain open. Starting tomorrow, retail stores may open from 9 o’clock in the morning until 5 o’clock at night.

The improvement of the coal situation in Sheridan has made it possible to reopen the library on a restricted hour basis.

Fire badly damaged the beautiful new home of Mr. and Mrs. H. Glen Kinsley at 820 South Thurmond Street, but the lives of the couple and their two babies were saved because the fire caused a light in the hall adjacent to their bedroom to come on.
