A Look Back in Time: Dec. 22, 1916

Now here's Sheridan Media's look back in time, to 100 years ago, by reporter Pat Blair as published in the Sheridan Post newspaper on Dec. 22, 1916.

Because Sunday comes immediately before Christmas day, the Christmas sermons will be delivered and Christmas exercises held in the Sheridan churches on Sunday at the usual hours for Sunday services. Topics appropriate to the occasion have been selected by the pastors.

Choice baby beef roasts are 20 cents a pound and choice dressed, home-grown turkeys 30 cents a pound at Sheridan's Central Market. Choice dressed, home-grown geese are 25 cents a pound, and choice dressed, home-grown ducks 20 cents a pound.

Sheridan's Golden Rule store has big teddy bears for $1.98, and fine character dolls for $1.25.
