A Look Back in Time: Dec. 6, 1919

Now here's Sheridan Media's look back in time, to 100 years ago, by reporter Pat Blair as published in the Sheridan Enterprise newspaper on Dec. 6, 1919.


As a result of the serious shortage of coal throughout the country, the city of Sheridan has been put on a strict coal rationing by the fuel administration. According to a proclamation issued by Mayor Camplin, there will be a general curtailment of the use of lights.

Coal production in the Sheridan fields today will probably be between 65 and 75 percent of the normal output. All the mines are operating with the exception of Carneyville.

Forty-three was delayed in Sheridan this morning. The train was due to arrive at 6:30 o’clock but didn’t arrive until 8:30.
