A Look Back in Time: Dec. 7, 1919

Now here's Sheridan Media's look back in time, to 100 years ago, by reporter Pat Blair as published in the Sheridan Enterprise newspaper on Dec. 7, 1919.

Sheridan faces an acute coal famine. Already there are 100 families here who have no coal, and should low temperatures continue to prevail, the situation will rapidly become desperate.

County commissioners at a special meeting yesterday passed a resolution that the county will place and maintain the Dayton mountain road in a satisfactory condition to the forest reserve line, with the understanding that the U.S. government will construct the connecting stretch of road between the forest reserve lines in Sheridan and Big Horn counties.

Mr. and Mrs. M. S. Mead Jr. arrived in Sheridan today from Buffalo to attend to business. They’re staying at the Sheridan Inn.
