A Look Back in Time: July 31, 1919

Now here's Sheridan Media's look back in time, to 100 years ago, by reporter Pat Blair as published in the Sheridan Enterprise newspaper on July 31, 1919.

W.H. Wallace, who went to Cheyenne on behalf of the Sheridan Commercial club to induce the state highway commission to widen three miles of the Big Horn road to 16 feet of concrete, today reported he was convinced by the commission that the road as planned, with four feet of gravel on each side, will be better.

A new era of newspaper publishing in Sheridan has dawned with the installation by the Sheridan Enterprise of a Duplex press.

Reports from some of the mining camps today reveal that orders for coal are sufficient to resume working from three and four to five days each week. For the past two months, the mines have been working only one and a half to two days a week maximum.
