A Look Back in Time: March 5, 1917

Now here's Sheridan Media's look back in time, to 100 years ago, by reporter Pat Blair as published in the Sheridan Enterprise newspaper on March 5, 1917.

Ote Merrill, a rancher living on Dutch creek, was shot and killed instantly while seated in an automobile on Main street at 1:30 this afternoon. The shooter, William Rinner, a homesteader on Beatty Gulch, claimed that Merrill had broken up his home. Mrs. Rinner was in the car with Merrill at the time of the shooting.

“The Purple Mask” is playing at Sheridan's Gem theater today. This episode contains the Silent Feud.

The school board is asking for bids for seats for the auditorium at the Linden school. The auditorium will seat about 50 people.
