Madden: Recent Vote Gives Look At Government Process

State Representative Mike Madden of Buffalo, who has been updating Sheridan Media during his time at this year's Legislative session, said in his most recent talk that the recent vote on the cigarette tax increase in the House was an “interesting parliamentary process.”

Madden explains why the procedure was out of the ordinary.

Madden said the bill is now in the Senate for consideration there.

Last Thursday was “Crossover Day,” the day when bills passed in each chamber move to the other side for consideration there, so Madden said the House had a number of first-reading bills they still need to address and consider before Tuesday's deadline to get them over to the Senate.
