Mayoral Candidates Talk About Role of Administrator

Candidates for Sheridan mayor, Alex Lee and Roger Miller, were asked during a forum earlier this week how they view the role of mayor with the new city administrator.

After the forum, Sheridan Media posed the question again to the two in a separate interview, starting with Lee.

Lee said that allows the mayor to focus on larger issues, including working with state officials on the needs of the city.

Miller agreed that a city administrator will free up the city's mayor.

He said his objection hasn't been the position but, rather, how that position has been implemented by the city.

Miller said he thinks that will happen within the first week to 30 days. He said he thinks the council will become the legislative branch that it's supposed to be, and the mayor will be working strongly with or without the administrator, depending on what the next few months bring.

The council interviewed the two candidates for city administrator last month, but a decision on who the new administrator will be is still pending
