During their tenures, McGinnis and Ballek have expanded facilities and health and wellness programmin, remodeled locker rooms, developed additional soccer fields and parking, purchased Camp Roberts, and most recently concluded the capital campaign to build the community aquatics center. According to McGinnis, Ballek will stay on at the Y in a different role.

McGinnis, who will have worked for the Sheridan County YMCA for 41 and a half years by the time he has retired, has been the Executive Director since 1993.

McGinnis's tenure of close to 24 years is the longest of the five Executive Directors the Y has had over it's 55 years. He will retire fully at the end of August. The process of finding a replacement for McGinnis is now started and the responsibilities of Ballek will be distributed among the current Y staff until the new director has been brought on.
