MDU Intervention Terms of Settlement Approved at Council Meeting

After their meeting last week, the Sheridan City Council went into an Executive Session. According to City Public Works Director Nic Bateson, the session was intended to discuss Approval of the Terms of Settlement for the 2016 MDU Rate Adjustment proposal.

Bateson continued that the City’s legal counsel as well as their expert power consultant challenged some of the line items within MDU’s financial model. Through this process, they were able to lower the rate increase.

Bateson explained that there are several different tiers of users, and that the increase is only an average. Depending on the tier, users could have a lower or a higher increase. The council did approve the terms of settlement after reconvening.
