Members Appoint Vandel To Joint Powers Board

There is a new member on the Criminal Justice Center's Joint Powers Board, after Clerk of District Court Debra Vandel was appointed to that position at their recent quarterly meeting.

County Commission Chairman Bill Novotny explained during the meeting that former Clerk of District Court Thelma Axberg, who had stepped down from that position sometime ago, had continued serving on the joint powers board. She recently tendered her resignation from the board to allow her to move closer to family in her retirement.

Vandel was nominated to the board position by Buffalo Mayor Mike Johnson, and the board then voted unanimously to officially appoint her to the joint powers board.

Also during the quartely meeting, the board reviewed their finanacial report and voted to close a matured Certificate of Deposit and transfer the funds to their checking account.

The board also approved paying a bill for equipment purchased and installed at the justice center's dispatch center.
