Motorcycle Crash Claims Gillette Man

A motorcycle crash on Wyoming State Highway 50 claimed the life of 62-year-old Gillette resident Sherman Taylor late last week.

According to the Wyoming Highway Patrol, the incident happened at 5 p.m. Friday about 51 miles south of Gillette while Taylor was traveling north on the highway on a 2006 Harley-Davidson motorcycle.

According to the Highway Patrol, Taylor was passing another northbound vehicle when his motorcycle left the highway to the west and crashed. He was thrown from the vehicle and sustained fatal injuries at the scene. He was reported not wearing a helmet. Highway Patrol officials say he was the 18th highway fatality in Wyoming so far this year. There were 47 fatalities during this time period in 2015.
