New Exhibit to Focus on County History

A new permanent exhibit, focusing exclusively on Sheridan County history, will start May 1 at the Sheridan County Museum.

Museum Executive Director John Woodward said the permanent exhibit is in addition to this year's exhibit on World War I.

He said the exhibit will allow the museum staff to pull some unique artifacts out of the museum's back room that haven't been exhibited for a while or may never have been placed on exhibit. As one example, he said, part of the exhibit will be about the Custer Battlefield Highway.

He said there are other artifacts relative to local government.

Woodward said the exhibit area will always be designated as Sheridan County, but the museum may rotate various artifacts in order to keep fresh materials in the cases.
