"The Night Before Christmas"

Sheridan Stationary was hopping Saturday and Sheridan Media's Judy Hagerott stopped by and brings us this story.

Santa Claus was the star of the morning, sitting in a back corner at Sheridan Stationary reading, “The Night Before Christmas,” for the children gathered there. The kids climbed up on Santa's lap and told him their Christmas wishes while he handed out candy canes all sprinkled with Christmas joy, but this Santa also had another purpose.

This Santa, alias Matt Davis, the Director of Habitat for Humanity of the Eastern Bighorns came with another message of good cheer.

Now, that's something to be proud of. Declan Jacobson told Santa he wanted a skateboard for Christmas, but he also had his sights on something else. His dad says Declan wants to shoot for the stars.

The Christmas activities continued 'blast off' through the afternoon at Sheridan Stationary as owners Robby and John Smith held a customer appreciation day. Robby explains.

This is a tradition that goes back 21 years; now that's a lot of black bean chili.
