A sizable crowd showed up to tour Sheridan Memorial Hospital's new Outpatient Center – formerly known as the Medical Arts Complex – and visit with hospital staff during an open house for the new facility Tuesday night.

Hospital CEO Mike McCafferty said there was a great turnout for the event.

Among those on hand to greet people was Tim Grollmes, administrator of the hospital's Internal Medicine department, formerly Big Horn Mountain Medicine.

Grollmes said at least part of the goal of the open house was to show the public what his department would be able to offer next Monday.

Grollmes said the Internal Medicine department includes seven internal medicine physicians and six advanced practice clinicians as well as physician assistants and nurse practitioners. The department includes 35 exam rooms and two procedure rooms.

McCafferty said the hospital's ear, nose and throat person will be in the building starting March 11. The new Outpatient Center also houses labs and other facilities including the women's clinic on the second floor, diabetes education and a medication assistance program.
