Planning Continues On South Bypass Walking Path

Scott Pehringer

Johnson County Road & Bridge Supervisor Scott Pehringer told the county commissioners that the proposed walkway path on the county-owned South Bypass Road is still in the planning process, but the plan was to present the proposal to the Wyoming Department of Transportation (WYDOT) for their consideration in the near future.

Pehringer said Nelson Engineering of Buffalo was currently working on their proposal, including costs and estimated time for construction, and once the proposal was complete, the county would then take the proposal to WYDOT for consideration for funding.

The walking path project will, if funded, build an extension of the Buffalo Trails System from the trail at Clear Creek near the intersection of Bypass Road and East Hart Street south along South Bypass Road to the existing pathway on Cemetery Road near the high school.
