The Sheridan Police Department in conjunction with the Prevention Management Organization of Wyoming and the Wyoming Department of Health will once again be hosting a Prescription Drug Take Back Day Saturday from 10 am to 2 pm in the Walgreen’s Parking lot in Sheridan.

Sheridan Police Lieutenant Travis Koltiska says the program is a national initiative through the Drug Enforcement Agency that began in 2010.

Koltiska said that while they accept any unused prescription medications, there are a few things that they ask people not to bring to the Take Back Day.

Koltiska said that if you can’t make it Saturday, there’s a drop box at the Police Department that’s available for disposing of your unused prescription medications. He said the drop site is in a bit of a different location due to the current remodel.

Koltiska said all of the prescription medications that are collected at the Police Department are incinerated every couple of weeks. Once again, the Prescription Drug Take Back Day in Sheridan is Saturday from 10 am to 2 pm in the Walgreens parking lot.
