‘The Producers’ Comes to Local Stage

A musical billed as a “witty, sarcastic ride” will be brought to the local stage at the end of the month. The local Civic Theatre Guild opens Mel Brooks’ “The Producers” on March 24 at the WYO Theater in Sheridan.

The plot tells the tale of a theatrical producer and an accountant who aim to create the ultimate Broadway flop called “Springtime for Hitler,” with the intention of pocketing the production money. But the show turns out to be a hit. The local actors taking on the starring roles are Dan Cole and David Meyers.

The show will run nightly over two weekends, March 24 to 26 and 31 through April 2, with a 7:30 curtain time. Tickets are $20 and $17 for students, seniors and active military, and can be purchased in advance at the box office of the theater located on Main in downtown Sheridan or online at wyotheater.com. We’ll hear more about the local production during an upcoming Public Pulse show. Members of the group are scheduled to appear the day before opening, on Wednesday, March 23. Public Pulse airs at 9, on KROE, right after the news.
