Prom Dresses Available For Those Facing Hardships

Everyone should be able to enjoy their high school prom, but with the downturn in the economy, many in the area are facing the reality that prom may not be affordable.

ANB Bank branches in Gillette and Buffalo have implemented their “Prom Dress Extravaganza” program and are taking donations of new or gently used prom dresses, shoes, jewelry and other accessories for girls in northeast Wyoming to choose and select from to ensure everyone who wants a prom dress can access one for free and attend their prom.

Cynthia Johnson, Branch Supervisor at ANB Bank in Gillette, tells us how the program started.

They have already had one “pick-up day” on April 22nd, and will have their last one this Saturday in Gillette.
Johnson said volunteers for the program are just as excited as the girls participating in the program.

Johnson said the “Prom Dress Extravaganza” is open to anyone and everyone that needs it.

Area girls can view and select dresses this Saturday from 9am to 3pm at the Youth Emergency Service (YES) House in Gillette, and those who may wish to donate dresses can drop then off before 5pm Friday at the two ANB Bank Branches in Buffalo and Gillette.

Youth Emergency Service (YES) House is located at 905 N. Gurley Avenue in Gillette.
ANB Bank, Buffalo branch is located at 99 S. Main Street; and the Gillette branch is located at 800 E. 7th Street.
