Sheridan WYO Rodeo week has come and gone for another year, and for the most part, there were no major incidents involving law enforcement. Sheridan Media’s Ron Richter has the story.

Every year thousands of people converge on Sheridan for the Sheridan WYO Rodeo and many activities that go along with what is known as “rodeo week”. The street dances that occur on Friday and Saturday nights downtown following the rodeo draw several thousand people each night. That many bodies in close proximity with alcohol flowing freely can add up to trouble at times. Sheridan Police Lieutenant Travis Koltiska says that aside from the usual alcohol related offenses, it was a relatively quiet rodeo weekend.

Koltiska said that a lot of people took advantage of the free ride home program that they offered once again at the street dances.

The Lieutenant said that the program is funded jointly between the city and event organizers.
