A meet-the-artist reception will be held starting at 5:30 p.m. Tuesday at Frackelton's Restaurant to introduce Victoria Golab and her painting, “Miene Perfektion”.

Golab has donated the painting to the Sheridan Branch of the American Association of University Women, which will sell the painting to raise money for educational products.

Golab created the painting in a Sheridan College art class, in which the assignment was to do an interpretive self-portrait. She said the wolf, which she believes is surrounded by myth and often misunderstood, expresses her inner, personal nature. The name she chose for the painting means “My Perfection.”

Golab will graduate from Sheridan College Saturday with a degree in art and theater, and has enlisted in the U.S. Marines. She will report for duty on May 23. After her enlistment ends, she plans to return to college for a masters degree in art.
