The Sheridan Area Water Supply Joint Powers Board approved the termination of an existing contract for professional services with Dowl Engineering, and entered into a new contract with the firm to complete the Control Valve Upgrade Project.

SAWS Project Manager Dan Coughlin explains why the new contract was needed.

The new contract that was approved is in the amount of $115,000. The project consists of replacing 17 pressure reducing valves throughout the SAWS system. In total, there are 30 PRV’s in the system, but Coughlin said that the other 13 have either been updated or are still fairly new and do not need to be replaced at this time.
