The Sheridan Area Water Supply Joint Powers Board continues to weigh the options of consolidating to have the City of Sheridan take over full ownership of the water system that serves both city and county residents. Sheridan Mayor John Heath says that he supports the consolidation.

A draft agreement to transfer assets and liabilities of the Joint Powers Board to the City was presented to SAWS last week at their regular monthly meeting. SAWS Joint Powers Board Attorney Tony Wendtland said the draft is currently being reviewed by the City, SAWS Project Manager Dan Coughlin and Sheridan County Attorney Matt Redle.
