Season’s First Farmers Market

Thursday night Grinnell Plaza in downtown Sheridan attracted a multitude of shoppes. It was the kick-off for this year’s Sheridan Farmers Market. First year Market Manager, Zoila Perry, gave a run-down of what the 37 vendors had available.

Add to that were all sorts of craft items. There was something for everyone including a bounce house and free face painting for the kids.

Margaret Jenkins and her husband were there, all the way from Wilmington, Delaware. They’ve been vacationing here for the last 30 years and she said the sunshine and festive atmosphere were refreshing.

Fourth year vendor Janet Hoxie was selling fruit pops and on a warm summer evening sales were brisk.

The Farmers Market is held each Thursday through September.
