The deadline to file as a candidate for this year’s Primary Election in August ended Friday at the end of the business day. According to the Wyoming Secretary of State’s website, there were 149 candidates that filed for the Wyoming House of Representatives, 34 candidates filed to run for the Wyoming Senate, and 13 filed to run for Wyoming’s lone seat in the U.S. House of Representatives.

Secretary of State Ed Murray said that while he’s pleased to see that a high percentage of the races will be contested, he’d wished it would have been 100 percent of the races.

This year’s Primary Election will be Tuesday, August 16, while the General Election will be Tuesday, November 8.
