Sheridan College Photographer Wins National Award

Dennis Jacobs, photographer at Sheridan College, has received a gold medal for his original photograph of a Sheridan College ecology course in the field.

The award was presented by the National Council for Marketing & Public Relations in the council's “Original Photography – Unmanipulated” category, according to a news release from the college.

Wendy Smith, director of marketing and public relations for the Northern Wyoming Community College District, which owns Sheridan College, said the district is “thrilled and honored by this win.” She said Jacobs is a brilliant photographer with a keen eye for the perfect shot. The National Council for Marketing & Public Relations exclusively represents marketing and public relations professionals at community and technical colleges.

The news release stated the organization is the only national competition of its kind that honors excellence exclusively among marketing and PR professionals at two-year colleges.

In addition to Sheridan College in Sheridan, the college district owns Gillette College in Gillette and the Johnson County campus.
