Sheridan Native Helps Start Virtual Food Drive for Laid Off Coal Miners in Wyoming

When the energy layoffs in Wyoming happened, Sheridan born Joe Evers was upset to see the picture of a line of the laid off workers at the food bank. Evers and his colleague Melissa Lyon, a Rock Springs Native, decided to create a virtual food drive for them.

Evers said that the drive will only affect certain areas.

By donating money virtually to the food bank instead of donating food that you have bought, the food bank can then buy the food in bulk. So far Evers said that about 40 people have donated a total of a little more than $3,600.
