Sheridan Student Wins National Scholarship

Cheyenne Buyert, a senior at Sheridan High School, is among 100 winners of a Young Entrepreneur Foundation scholarship presented recently by the National Federation of Independent Business.

The scholarship award is for $2,000 based on her enterprise called At the Drop of a Hat. Molly Young, director of the Young Entrepreneur Foundation, said the scholarship awards are designed to reward and encourage entrepreneurial talents among high school students.

Young said 95 of the graduating high school students will receive $2,000 toward college and university costs, while five are in the running for the top Young Entrepreneur of the Year scholarship of $25,000 and the Dan Danner scholarship of $15,000. Three of the five will receive a $10,000 Young Entrepreneur award.
