With the Fourth of July and Sheridan WYO Rodeo Week happening at the beginning of July, the Sheridan County Sheriff’s Department was busy making sure that they had a presence throughout the area. Sheriff Allen Thompson shared his recap of the Independence Day events.

Due to wet conditions on the Big Horn Equestrian Center fields, the annual fireworks show was delayed by two days. Rodeo week also looked a bit different than in years past as the Wyoming Highway Patrol had a significantly larger occupancy to help deter people from driving under the influence. Sheriff Thompson explains how those extra bodies helped his office.
