Smart Swoptions From Dr. Erin Nitschke

Local Health Coach and Fitness Nutrition Specialist Dr. Erin Nitschke stopped by our news talk show public pulse Tuesday to share some of her smart “swoptions” to eating healthier. Nitschke said that these options allow you to eat the things you like but without some of the unhealthy ingredients. For instance unsweetened applesauce can replace some of the sugar in recipes. She did mention that not all sugar is bad.

Other substitutes include squash pasta, ground turkey instead of beef, greek yogurt for sour cream, and a mushroom burger instead of beef.
