The afternoon session Tuesday of the Sheridan County Chamber of Commerce Legislator Forum began with Sheridan County School District #3 Superintendent Charles Auzqui updating legislators on the current status of the three schools within the district. Auzqui also said that now is the time to begin preparing for a new State Assessment System for students.

The state currently uses the Proficiency Assessment for Wyoming Students, or PAWS as the student assessment system. District #3 owns and operates Arvada Elementary, Clearmont Elementary, and Arvada-Clearmont Junior/ Senior High School.

School District #2 Director of Elementary Education Scott Stults also touched on the state assessment issue.

We’ll have more stories regarding each school district and their presentations to legislators in the coming days.
