Tabled Once Again

After over an hour of discussion amongst the Sheridan City Council, property owner Don Roberts and several concerned nearby homeowners, the Council elected to table ordinance #2136 Cloud Peak Ranch 16, which is a request to rezone 2.2 acres from R-1 residential to R-3 in the Cloud Peak Ranch subdivision. This is the third time that the ordinance has been tabled on first reading. When the Council initially tabled the item at their July 1 meeting, they wanted Roberts to address traffic, density and open space concerns that were raised by adjacent homeowners.

City Council President John Health says that while progress was made between the two entities, the issue of density remains a concern.

The original ordinance that came before the Council earlier this summer was for a 22 lot subdivision. Roberts, through discussions with City staff and homeowner Trish Davis, agreed to remove two lots from the proposed development. Davis Monday night, speaking on behalf of homeowners within The Traditions development at Cloud Peak, stated that to realistically address their density concerns, they'd like to see no more than an 18 lot subdivision.
