The Sheridan County Courthouse has existed for over a century and many changes have occurred since it was originally fabricated. Scott Stewart, Senior Grounds Maintenance Worker at the courthouse, explained the origins of the structure.
The original building has some interesting places including a underground pathway that leads from the old jail, which now houses the Sheridan County Justice Office, into the old courthouse. Stewart said this was used to efficiently and safely transfer prisoners to court.
