“The Thinking Animal”

As part of Sheridan College’s Faculty Lecture Series, Dr. Rachel Kristiansen presented a talk entitled ‘A Look at Comparative Psychology in the 21st Century.”

Specializing in the study of animals, comparing animals and humans, she thought a lecture on how animals think would be interesting.

She said pet owners need to pay attention to their animal’s behavior.

That also applies to the wild animals we encounter in our world.

She gave three main reasons to study animals: simply because of our curiosity, for the benefits of conservation and animal welfare, and also it is beneficial for human advancement.
